About 95% of the world’s bourbon is produced in Kentucky. While whiskey has been distilled in Kentucky since the 1700’s, the bourbon trail is relatively young and wasn’t formed until 1999. Kentucky’s bourbon trail consists of 13 world-famous distilleries and 14 micro-distilleries.
While the bourbon trail is relatively spread out, Louisville, KY is lucky enough to be the home of four distilleries. Three of these distilleries are a part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and one is considered a micro-distillery.
